My Story
About Me
A life lived between cultures, shaped by curiosity, and grounded in the things that matter.
Between Three Worlds
I was born and raised in Malmö, Sweden, shaped by Scandinavian winters and Croatian summers on the Dalmatian coast. Croatia has always been my true home: the stone villages, the sea, the warmth of the people, the food. Growing up between two worlds gave me something I carry into every room I enter: the ability to read different registers, navigate unspoken rules, and find common ground between perspectives that can seem irreconcilable from a distance.
That instinct is the foundation of everything I do professionally. It is not a technique I learned in a seminar. It is how I grew up.
"The world is not divided by borders but by the stories we tell ourselves about each other."
My Education
I studied International Security and Conflict Resolution with an emphasis on Justice in the Global System, alongside a minor in Sociology and associates degrees spanning Global Studies, Political Science, Behavioral Science, Sociology, and Criminology. These weren't just academic credentials to me — they were lenses. Ways of seeing how the world works, why it breaks down, and how it might be repaired.
I completed that foundation with an MBA in International Business from Southern States University, San Diego, because I wanted to understand not just the politics of the world but the economics and organizations that shape it. Together, these disciplines give me a distinctive perspective: I think in systems and structures, but I never lose sight of the human beings at the center of every conflict, negotiation, and decision.
What I Do
My expertise sits at the intersection of international relations, nonprofit work, and cross-cultural business. I work with individuals and organizations navigating the complexities of operating across borders: the unwritten rules, the cultural protocols, the diplomatic instincts that textbooks rarely teach but that make or break relationships in global contexts.
I write about politics and global affairs, produce analysis and reports on international issues, and am building toward a podcast where I can bring these conversations to a wider audience. I believe that understanding the world is not just an academic exercise — it is a responsibility, and one I take seriously.
My professional background includes project management, financial analysis, market research in the insurance sector, and event coordination. Across all of it, the throughline has been the same: a love of understanding deeply, communicating clearly, and making things work across differences.
Life Outside Work
Every summer, I return to Dalmatia. There is a particular bay on Pelješac I know, where the water is the color of aquamarine and the pines come down to the shore. I swim there until I'm tired and then I read in the shade, and the hours pass the way they should, slowly, with pleasure. The whole coast around Metković and Pelješac has this quality: a stillness that feels ancient, unhurried, deeply itself.
I love to read: novels, mostly, but also history and ideas. I love to write: the act of putting experience into words is how I understand it. I love Pošip, the white wine from the Dalmatian islands, dry and mineral and tasting faintly of the sea. And I love lavender: its color, its scent, the way it turns an ordinary afternoon into something almost sacred.
These days I call San Diego home, and I've fallen completely in love with it. The light here has something in common with Dalmatia: bright and impossibly clear, with that particular quality that makes everything look more vivid. The Pacific is a different ocean from the Adriatic, but it has its own drama: the way sunsets turn the whole sky pink and amber over the water, the wildness of the cliffs at Torrey Pines, the hiking trails through chaparral that smell of sage after rain. San Diego has the best weather I have ever lived in, and I find myself grateful for it every single day. It is a city that makes you want to be outdoors, and outdoors is exactly where I want to be.
I believe that a life well-lived is made of small, beautiful things attended to with full attention.
